Donnie Duncan Jr, Alvin Ailey Company

Originally from Illinois, Donnie began his training in the southern part of his home state before continuing his studies at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2017.
Between 2014 and 2017, he refined his artistic identity within several American contemporary dance companies, including Kambré Contemporary Dance Company, Williams/Henry Contemporary Dance Company, and dawsondanceSF in San Francisco.
In 2017, Donnie joined NDT2, a company renowned worldwide for its artistic rigor and innovative repertoire. Two years later, he advanced to NDT1, taking on leading roles in works by some of the most significant choreographers of the 21st century, among them Crystal Pite, Paul Lightfoot & Sol León, Jiří Kylián, Imre & Marne van Opstal, and Gabriela Carrizo.
With NDT, he had the opportunity to perform in numerous international festivals across the globe, from Brazil to Mexico, Italy to Turkey, as well as South Korea, the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
After leaving NDT1 in January 2023, Donnie joined Madonna’s artistic team as a dancer for “The Celebration Tour”, before relocating to New York.
In 2025, he joined the prestigious modern dance company Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, continuing a career marked by artistic excellence and boldness.
