Antonio Casalinho – Bayerisches Staatsballett, Germany

Antonio Casalinho began his training at the age of 8 in his native Portugal, at the Annarella Sanchez International Conservatory of Ballet and Dance, using the Cuban method. At the same time, he trained alongside numerous international teachers and dancers from the Russian-Vaganova and French schools. During the 2020-21 season, he will be deepening his training with Maina Gielguld, focusing on the classical repertoire of the 19th and 20th centuries.

A winner of numerous international competitions, he went on to win the Gold Medal and the First Prize in contemporary dance at the Prix de Lausanne in 2021, propelling the young prodigy’s reputation to new heights. Antonio has won international acclaim for his exceptional classical technique, his musicality, his artistic sensitivity, his sense of acting and his versatility in contemporary works.

He joined the Bayerisches Staatsballett, where he enriched his personal repertoire by dancing the greatest works of the classical and contemporary repertoires with the company. In just a few seasons, he rose to the coveted rank of Principal Dancer, performing on the greatest international stages, both with the company and as a guest star.
